According to Euromonitor International, the consumption of facial and eye make-up, lip care and nail care products will continue to grow at a healthy pace over the next few years in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to reach 519.5 million United Arab Emirates dirham (AED) in 2014.
The growth rate of colour cosmetic products should reach a 27.8 per cent increase over the 2009-2014 period.
"The UAE and the region in general traditionally enjoy high-spending on cosmetics and other beauty products,” said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt., the organisers of Beautyworld Middle East, the leading beauty trade show in the region, which will run from May 24th to 26th, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Eye and facial make-up, particularly lip make-up products including lipstick, lip gloss and lip liners are projected to be the two largest segments of this market.
The wide demographic spread within the UAE means that the demand for cosmetics is widespread and across the price spectrum. Along with the strong demand for high-end, luxury products, there is also a robust market for the everyday, reasonably-priced product lines, making the UAE an attractive market for cosmetic manufacturers and suppliers of all kinds.
