This year, after 10 years of industrial cultivation, Codif has reached 1 tonne of dry matter produced in total. That tonne was produced from a single purified fragment that has been multiplied and serves as a strain for seeding all the cultures. The fragment weighs about 1 milligram dry. Codif has gone from 1 milligram to 1 billion milligrams, without any new sampling!

According to the company, the result obtained after 10 years, as well as the cultivation of Jania that they have established is the best example of Codif and its CSR approach. After harvesting a strain, and purifying it, they have not touched nature again.

Since its creation, Codif has tried to produce innovative active ingredients while remaining true to its environmental values. They call this Bioth-Ecology: using high- biotechnology to cultivate plants and algae which are identical to those in the natural environment. Bioth-Ecology cultivation makes it possible to ’copy and paste’ living things without impacting the ecosystem of the resources they exploit. In this type of culture, specific living conditions corresponding to those of the organism’s natural habitat are recreated.

This is what has been done with the Jania Rubens culture.
